You’re paid at closing
Your referral fee — 30%, 40%, or 50% of the gross commission by sale price — is paid broker to broker and put in writing in a referral agreement, so there are no surprises.

Referral fees
Referral fees, in plain numbers.
Your fee is a share of the gross commission, set by the sale price. No fine print, no sliding scale to decode — three tiers, the same for buyers and sellers.
30% of the gross commission on closed sales from $750,000 up to $1.5M.
40% of the gross commission on closed sales over $1.5M up to $3M.
50% of the gross commission on closed sales over $3M.
Introductory offer. Referral fees are a percentage of the gross commission earned on the closed transaction, paid broker to broker pursuant to a written referral agreement. A sale priced at exactly $1,500,000 falls in the 30% tier; a sale priced at exactly $3,000,000 falls in the 40% tier.
